San Jose, CA, May 20, 2015—The 2015 Creative Storage Conference (SM) (CS 2015) welcomes Alex Grossman from Quantum as a keynote speaker. The conference agenda is now online and conference registration is open. CS 2015 is Tuesday June 30, 2015 at the DoubleTree Hotel West Los Angeles in Culver City, CA (www.creativestorage.org).
Alex Grossman, Vice President, Media and Entertainment at Quantum will give a keynote talk on “The Value of Intelligent Workflow Storage in A Changing Media Production Landscape.”
Following is Alex’s talk abstract: The entire landscape for media production and delivery is changing right under our feet. The greater demand for “always on” media, higher resolution content, shrinking deadlines, increased re-monetization opportunities, and the ever-increasing need for storage capacity are forcing dramatic changes at both the technical and business level. General purpose, IT-centric storage simply can’t keep up with the demands placed on broadcast and post production operations today. To maximize business value and improve efficiency, content workflows need a new generation of media-aware, intelligent workflow storage. Adding intelligence to workflows can make creative production more efficient, provide greater control, and – above all – help content owners capture the greatest return from their valuable assets.
Alex drives the company’s go-to-market strategy and activities in this key vertical. He joined Quantum in January 2013, bringing more than two decades of industry experience to the role. Before Quantum, Grossman was founder and CEO of Active Storage, a developer of media and Apple®- centric workflow storage solutions. Prior to that, he was an executive within the Worldwide Product Marketing group at Apple, with responsibility for driving the development, marketing and management of Apple server and storage products. He has contributed to several patents associated with media management and storage technology, and he led the team that developed the first FireWire®-based storage area network. When asked about Quantum and the Creative Storage Conference Alex made some observations.
“The Creative Storage Conference is a unique venue for content creators and owners to gather firsthand knowledge from and to engage in live discussion with companies driving innovation and solutions to challenging technical and business issues in media production, delivery management and preservation,” said Alex Grossman, vice president of media and entertainment at Quantum. “Intelligent workflow storage is a key enabler in dealing with content lifecycle management, production efficiency, and cloud-based asset retention in today’s complex creative processes. And it is essential in driving greater efficiency and lowering the cost of the production process all the way through long-term monetization. I look forward to discussing the growing challenges facing content creators and how media-aware digital storage solutions can address them.”
