VAIO Launches VAIO® Z Canvas in the U.S.
Built for and by creators, new PC offers the mobility and performance they demand
GARDENA, Calif. – October 5, 2015 – On the heels of its recent business expansion oversees, VAIOCorporation today launched its VAIO Z Canvas, a high performance, convertible PC with a beautiful display and a natural-feeling stylus, all in a compact, portable form factor.
“After showcasing a prototype to creators at last year’s Adobe MAX conference, we have received very positive feedback for the VAIO Z Canvas,” said Ryosuke Akahane, Executive Vice President, VAIO Corporation. “We are excited to bring the VAIO Z Canvas to U.S. with the features that photographers, graphic artists, web designers and other creators need to unlock their artistic potential anywhere they go.”
The VAIO Z Canvas was designed from the ground up to be a tool for the creative professionals, featuring a powerful Intel® processor and graphics chip in a thin and light body. It also has a 12.3 -inch WQXGA+ screen that supports a wide color gamut, a digitizer stylus with 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity, a versatile kickstand and a wireless keyboard that can be moved around freely.
The VAIO Z Canvas will be offered in more than 110 Microsoft stores locations in addition to microsoftstore.com. “Building on the history Microsoft has working with Sony, we’re thrilled to see VAIO PCs return to the U.S.,” said Bill Mannion, General Manager, OEM Division, Microsoft Corp. “The high-performance VAIO Z Canvas laptop brings the new Windows 10 experience to life and helps expand the device options for customers at Microsoft stores.”
To kick-off the launch, VAIO Corporation will host an event on Oct. 5th, 2015 for media and consumers at Microsoft store at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles.
VAIO will also participate in the 2015 Adobe MAX conference (booth #419), providing product demonstrations and interactive experiences.
VAIO Z Canvas Product Specifications
Pricing for the VAIO Z Canvas starts as $2,199 (SSD 256GB x1 Serial ATA, 8GB memory). Additional options include $2,599 (2nd generation high speed SSD 512GB x1 PCI Express x4, 16G
memory) and $3,099 (2nd generation high speed SSD 1TB (512GB x2) PCI Express x4, 16G memory). All come with the option of a 2-year extended warranty for $199.
